Opening Ceremonies:
Past President Debbie Ehrlenbach called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. with opening remarks and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Debbie thanked Nancy Mayo for serving as Sergeant-at-Arms, Michael Houslen for setting up Zoom, and Ashley Johnson for taking notes.
Rotary Business/Upcoming Events/Volunteer Opportunities:
Rotary Ladies Night: Once a month at 4:30 p.m. at Black Moon on Main Street in Ellsworth. An email will be sent with the date. Please RSVP to JoAnn Rodick.
Join a Rotary Committee: Club members are encouraged to join a committee within the club. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Rotary and how you can help.
Autumn Gold Breakfast: The Autumn Gold Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, at EEMS from 7:00–10:00 a.m. Set-up will take place Friday afternoon, September 25. Kelly has provided a sign-up sheet. Flyers and tickets have been passed around at meetings.
Bangor Savings Bank Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive: Our club is collecting donations of peanut butter and jelly for Bangor Savings Bank. Please bring donations to an upcoming meeting during the month of September.
Membership Night: Membership Night will be held Tuesday, October 13, at the Moore Community Center. Invitations and flyers have been shared at meetings.
Polio Walk: The annual Polio Walk will be held Saturday, October 24, at 10:00 a.m. at Knowlton Park in Ellsworth. The walk will begin at Knowlton Park, head down State Street to Main Street, continue to School Street, and then return to Knowlton Park via State Street. The route is approximately 1.3 miles.
Members, prospective members, and Interact students are encouraged to participate in this casual walk. A $20 donation from each walker is encouraged. Following the walk, participants will head to Fogtown for pizza and pints. Fogtown will donate a percentage of the proceeds to support polio eradication efforts.
Kentucky Derby Fundraiser Committee: The next committee meeting is September 22. Please contact Debbie Ehrlenbach if you are interested in helping.
Donation Check Recognition: A $1,000 check was presented to Ellsworth High School to help purchase a new grill for use at sporting events.
Rotary Merchandise: Dave Wells brought in Rotary merchandise that is available for club members to purchase at 25% off. Contact Dave if you are interested.
Yellow Tulip Project: The Rotary Board is encouraging members to support the Yellow Tulip Project in memory of our late District Governor, Serge Poulin. The Yellow Tulip Project promotes awareness and education about the importance of mental health among young people.
Members who would like to help purchase yellow tulip bulbs for EHS and HCTC to plant are encouraged to make a donation by September 29. Twenty-five bulbs can be purchased for $30. The Ellsworth Noontime Rotary Club is donating $100 to support the project.

50/50: Carl Lusby won $8.
Happy Dollars: First-quarter Happy Dollars will go toward supporting the Bouquet family. Rotarian Rachel and her husband are both fighting cancer. Many Rotarians contributed Happy Dollars.
Rotary New Member Induction: Corey Bagley and Jamie Trader were inducted into the club. Welcome, Corey and Jamie!
Polio Cups: Members were reminded to donate to Polio. For every $1 donated, seven children can be vaccinated.
Guest Speaker: Saxon Tinto, Membership Committee Chair, provided a presentation on understanding our club’s membership process. Thank you, Saxon!
