Happy Dollars: 2nd Quarter Happy Dollars will go towards: Our Rotary International Project; specifically, to assist Centro de Prótesis y Terapia Física, a vital program that serves individuals in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and several Central American countries who have lost limbs. This program is dedicated to helping those affected regain their mobility and independence through access to prosthetics and physical therapy.

Downtown Ellsworth Christmas Parade: Saturday, December 7th to escort Santa. We are looking for a 12foot trailer to use. Contact Clyde Cushing.
Trunk or Treat: Saturday, October 26th at the Ellsworth Hannaford Parking lot from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Set-up will be at 2:00pm. Help pass out candy. This year’s theme is Storybook Characters. Come dressed up!
"MOVEMBER" MUSTACHE GROWING CONTEST - MENS HEALTH AWARNESS MUSTACHE GROWING 50/50. CONTEST 1 NOV. THROUGH 26 Nov. 1st Prize 25%, 2nd Prize 15%, 3rd Prize 10%. *50% will be donated to MCMH Urology Dept. for screening equipment. *SUPPORTERS CAN ALSO PARTICIPATE BY DESIGNATING A PARTICIPANT and if the participant wins, share in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd place winning. *Judges will consider fullness, neatness and facial improvement on Nov. 28th. Entry fee is $10 per person.
Nominating Committee: It is that time of year for considering a leadership position in the club. Nominations for Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and President Elect are available. Please see anyone on the Board to express your interest in one of these positions.
Polio Fundraising Update: Tricia Quirk thanked everyone for participating, donated and helped with this year’s Polio Walks. We had 39 walkers including 2 Interact members. With Fogtown donation we raised $1,332.00 for World Polio Day events.
Volunteer Hours: Please let Tricia Quirk know if you have volunteered in the community outside of Rotary.
Guest Speakers: This week’s guest speaker was Scott Boucher. Scott is a member of the Rotary Club of Old Town. He has served as the chair for Polio Plus on the Maine side of District 7790 for 10 years. Professionally he owns a financial service/employee benefits firm: Barresi Financial. Scott lives in Bangor with his wife Dena and daughter Claire.
Scott provided a presentation on Polio including the history, facts and reasons to eradicate it. Scott encourages everyone to sign up to be part of the PolioPlus Society Membership.
