Happy Dollars 1st Quarter Check: Our club presented a check to Downeast Horizons in the amount of $570.00 towards their Special Olympics program from the 1st Quarter Happy Dollar donations.
 
 
Rotary Blood Drives at the Elks Club: 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 11am – 5pm. Sign up with Max Dietshe.  Please send all your community service hours to Max!
 
Walk for Polio: Saturday, October 22nd at 9:00am. All walkers will meet at Knowlton Park.  We will proceed down State Street to the lower light on Main Street, walk up Main Street to School Street and return to Knowlton Park.  A $20 donation is suggested to participate.  Bring your family and friends along to help raise money to eradicate polio.  Dogs are also welcome.  Funds raised will go toward Rotary International’s End Polio Now efforts.
 
Zoom Committee: Clyde is looking for Rotarians who would like to be on the Zoom committee to help do some research for a hotspot for the club to have better internet at China Hill and look into how much it would cost to get an upgrade on equipment. If you are interested in helping, please contact Clyde.
 
Loaves and Fishes Food Drive at Hannaford: Saturday, November 19th! Save the date!
 
Fellowship Update: Trunk or Treat is October 29th at 4pm at the Ellsworth YMCA. All are invited to attend and dress up! Our theme is “Western” We are looking for a wagon wheel, hay and other western decorations. Please contact Jodie Cushing! We are looking for candy donations!
 
The Ellsworth Downtown Christmas Parade is Saturday, December 3rd at 4:00pm. New this year is late afternoon and to celebrate with lighted floats! The theme is “Christmas at the Movies” All Rotarians are invited to attend to help out!

Guest Speaker:  This week our guest speaker was Rotarian Scott Boucher of the Bangor Rotary Club.  He currently sits on the District Foundation Committee as the Polio Plus Chair for the Maine side of District 7790.  Scott provided an excellent presentation on Polio Plus and how it's important to spread awareness about it.
 
Rotarian Lincoln Ehrlenbach reminded everyone of our Annual Polio Walk THIS SATURDAY (October 22nd)  at 9:00am at Knowlton Park. Please come!
