Opening Ceremonies: President Rebecca Greenlaw called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm with opening remarks and the pledge of allegiance.
 
Rebecca thanked Peter Farragher for taking care of Sergeant at Arms duties, Ashley for taking minutes, Michael for managing Zoom and everyone for help set up and take down the room.

Rotary Blueberry Pancake Breakfast – Saturday, August 2nd. We are looking for a 100-cup coffee maker to use for the breakfast. This can be burrowed from a friend/family or a local church? Let Lincoln Ehrlenbach know. The next meeting will be June 17th after the regular meeting.

Guest Speaker: Our guest speaker was Matt Montgomery. Matt is the Chief Executive Officer & DEFY Head Coach at Downeast Family YMCA in Ellsworth.
 
Matt moved to Maine from the Virgin Islands with his wife, Jessica, in 1998. He started in the Aquatics Department as an Assistant Swim Coach and Instructor. After serving for several years as the Aquatic Director, Matt became involved in Membership, Marketing and oversaw the aquatic department. Matt has been on the DEFY Coaching staff since 1998 and has been the Head Coach since 2000. Matt has been awarded Maine State Coach of the Year in 2010, 2013, and 2016. Before moving to Maine, Matt coached the Blue Marlin Swim Team of St. Croix, USVI along with Carderock Spring Cudas in Bethseda, Maryland. Matt has held several positions on the board of Maine Swimming, and currently serves as the Safe Sport Chair.
 
 Matt spoke about an upcoming event at the YMCA our club is sponsoring “Girls Self Defense” on June 6th from 9am – 11am. This is free to ladies 14-19 years’ old who attend a Hancock County School or $5 to members and $10 non-members of the YMCA. The class will cover Situational Awareness and Risk Education, Verbal Defense Skills, Empowerment and Confidence Building.
 
Polio Cups: Reminder to donate to Polio! For every $1 donated, 7 children are vaccinated.
 
 Next week at Rotary- June 3rd – Guest Speakers Lincoln Ehrlenbach and Ashley Johnson. They will be speaking about the Rotary Foundation and Ellsworth Maine Rotary Club Foundation.
