On Tuesday, May 26th at 6 PM, our club had a virtual meeting over the telephone and internet via Zoom. 
 
Invocation was by Rob Hemenway and read by Laura Pellerano.
 
The pledge was led by Carl Lusby, Ashley Johnson took notes and Tony and Julie Bouchard took attendance.

Checking In/Happy Dollars: Laura Pellerano started the meeting by asking each person to give a recap of how they were doing.  We heard from Ashley Johnson,  Clyde Cushing, Pam Cushing, Allegra Pellerano, Ken Huitt, Jo Cooper,  Dan Frye, Micki Sumpter, Carl Lusby, Scott Kimball, Julie and Tony Bouchard,  Tracy Shaffer, JoAnn Brown, Marian and Dave Wells, Gene Pellerano, Jodie Cushing, Fred Breyer, Lincoln and Debbie Ehrlenbach, Rod Fox and Jack Frost.

Rotary Business:
  1. Rotary Induction: Membership Committee inducted two new members: Rhonda Parker and Melody Pereira! Welcome to the Club!!
  2. Blood Drive at Elks Lodge was Tuesday, May 26th. Dan Frye volunteered. He reported it was sow but everyone was in good spirits.
  3. Vocational/Scholarship Committee Update: Debbie Ehrlenbach reported the committee has announced the club has awarded four $1,000 scholarships to Ellsworth High School (EHS) students.  The scholarship recipients are Allison Robbins, Caitlyn MacPherson, Aurora Burnmeister and Eden Salzig. The club have also awarded four $1,000 scholarships to Hancock County Technical Center (HCTC) students.The scholarship recipients are Taylor Richarson, Jocelyn Tozier, Michael Haire and Marissa Atwater.
 
Guest Speaker: This week’s guest speaker was Ken Huitt. Ken grew up in the foothills of North Carolina. He earned his BSBA at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.
 
After earning his BSBA, Ken moved to Spokane, WA to complete his MBA and law degree at Gonzaga University. After school, Ken practiced law in North Idaho, specializing in estate planning and corporate law. After leaving his law practice, Ken earned his securities and insurance licensures. He joined an Idaho community based bank and oversaw the Trust Administration Department. Ken moved to Ellsworth, Maine in the summer of 2017 to join Bar Harbor Trust Services.
 
Ken has been lucky enough to live in some of the most beautiful areas of the United States. In addition, he has traveled extensively through South and Central America, Europe, New Zealand and Australia.
 
Ken discussed a few unique cases he worked on/managed during his legal and trust career from collecting stagecoaches for a client to managing the purchase of a hospital.
