Guest Speaker:   This week’s guest speaker was US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) biologist Linda Welch. She provided an update on Maine seabirds.

Linda shared how Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge is monitoring the seabirds breeding on our coast, how well they are reproducing, and what they eat. This is helping the USFWS understand how climate change in the Gulf of Maine is influencing seabirds.

The USFWS has also been using the latest tracking technology to document the amazing foraging behavior and migration patterns for many of these species.
