EHS Interact Club – Good News! 34 Students from EHS have signed up to join the Interact Club! The EHS Advisor is Tessa Byard and the club will meet on a regular basis. A brochure has been created for them to have for future members and also can be seen on our club website.
 
Partners Program Update – We have 35 partners who have donated to the club for a total of $9,850.00! The list of Partners can be seen at the club meetings and on the club website.
 
October 3rd Meeting will be held at Fogtown Brewery in Ellsworth. Everyone meets at 5:30pm at Atlantic Art Glass for a tour then we will have pizza and drinks at Fogtown Brewery. After dinner we will have a tour of the brewery. For those who would like to have pizza: Please contact Fogtown by September 29th to place your order.
 
Next Step 30th Anniversary Project at The Great Maine Lumberjack Show – Sunday, October 8th. Our club will be cooking hamburgers and hotdogs. The event is from 9:00am -2:00pm. Lincoln is looking for helpers to cook. Please sign up.
 
Ellsworth Yellow Tulip Project – More details to come soon. This project is usually held in October in Ellsworth. The Yellow Tulip Project is a youth-driven movement dedicated to smashing the stigma surrounding mental illness – one tulip at a time. When communities come together, plant a garden, get their hands dirty, and talk about mental illness, hope blooms. Club members can bring in yellow tulip bulbs to the meeting.
 
Thank You - 2023 Peanut Butter & Jelly drive: Thank you to everyone who donated PB & J and brought them to the meetings during the month of September. They have been delivered to Bangor Savings Bank.
 
 
Rotary Blood Drives are the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at the Elks Lodge in Ellsworth. Please sign up to help. Shifts are from 11:00am to 2:00pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
 
Polio Walk on October 21st: Tricia Quirk and Lincoln Ehrlenbach are leading the charge on this year’s Walk for Polio, which will be held on October 21st. We are meeting at Knowlton park at 9:30am for pictures and donuts/coffee. The Walk will start at 10:00am.
 
There will be a pizza party after the walk at Fogtown Brewing. A sign-up sheet is available and members can contact Tricia to get a T-shirt prior.
 
2023-24 Rotary Passport- This was emailed to all members. Please check it out!
 
Nominating Committee: The committee is looking for future officers for Secretary, Vice President and President Elect. Any Rotarians who are interested in holding any of the officer positions, please let Debbie Ehrlenbach know.

Guest Speaker:  This week’s guest speaker was Visiting Rotarian Mike Sealander of the Ellsworth Noontime Club. Mike is a Maine Licensed Architect and with his wife Robyn Sealander owns Sealander Architects. Mike was the Noontime Rotary president last year. He shared a presentation of his trip to Japan he took in November 2022.
