- Rotary Wheelchair Project Fundraiser: At the Penobscot Language School in Rockland on Thursday, May 24th at 6:00pm. The wheelchair project is collaboration between Bangor Breakfast, Ellsworth, Portsmouth and West Bay Rotaries. $35 per person. Program/Speaker: This week’s guest speakers were our very own Ellsworth Rotarians who went on the 2018 Dominican Republic Wheelchair Project.
In March of 2018 The Ellsworth Rotary, joined by the Bangor Breakfast Club, the Old Town Club, and the Plymouth. N.H., Club, raised enough funds to purchase a container of 115 wheelchairs. The wheelchairs were procured through the American wheelchair mission and shipped on the group’s behalf to the Dominican Republic.
Laura Pellerano presented a slideshow of photos from the trip. Marshall Smith and Laura Pellerano spoke about the details of the project. Other Rotarians who spoke were Debbie ad Lincoln Ehrlenbach, Dave and Marian Wells, Terri Stephens, Gene and Allegra Pellerano. Everyone shared their Rotary Moment and experiences.
