The Rotary Club of Ellsworth Food Drive for Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry The Rotary Club of Ellsworth will be conducting their annual Food Drive for the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry in Ellsworth on Saturday, November 18th from 9am to 2pm at the Ellsworth Hannaford. We accept food or monetary donations at this event to help those in need in Hancock County. Once again, this year we are adding a challenge -"The Two Tons of Turkey Challenge!" We are asking all Rotarians and members of the community to help donate two tons of Turkeys to the Pantry (250 frozen turkeys are needed, in lieu of a turkey two chickens or a ham will be greatly appreciated). Donations can be dropped off Saturday November 18th during our food drive at Hannaford in Ellsworth or at the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry during operating hours: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00am to 12:30pm or 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesdays. If you live out of town, you can donate $20 and that donation will count as a turkey. Donations can be mailed to our club’s address at PO Box 741, Ellsworth. Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps to build goodwill and peace in the world. Clubs represent a cross-section of the community and are nonpolitical and nonreligious. The Rotary Club of Ellsworth was chartered in 1950 and currently has 62 members. Message from Denise Adams/Rotary Leadership Institute Chair
Hello:
The Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) will return to District 7790 on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Lewiston – Auburn College!
RLI is offered in sequential sessions, and Parts I, II, III, and the Graduate program will be offered in Lewiston:
Date: Saturday, April 6, 2024
Time: Registration begins at 7:30 am, Classes from 8:00 am - 3:30 pm
Rotarian Fee: $95 Registration Fee (Includes Breakfast and Lunch); Rotaractor Fee is $50
Register: http://www.rlinea.org/
We will need to have enough pre-registrations by 10 days prior to the program to ensure that each part will run, so don't delay registering!
The Graduate Program topic this year is "Succession Planning."
We are delighted to bring RLI back to our district "in person" in early spring.
About RLI:
Over the years, my club has benefited from RLI greatly. Rotarians with varying experience, from brand new members to those with many years of experience, have gained a great deal from RLI. This interactive program strengthens Rotary club leadership through quality, engaging education in both leadership skills and Rotary knowledge.
We hope that these highly interactive courses will serve as one more way to motivate participants on their path to be enthusiastic, creative and dedicated Rotarians. This is an outstanding opportunity for each club to improve the Rotary knowledge of its members, who will also be exposed to new ideas of leadership. The exchange of ideas with other Rotarians makes the courses even more worthwhile.
Registration: Go to the RLI Northeast home page at http://www.rlinea.org/, and under the "Upcoming Classes" list in the left column, under "RLI NEA Seminar - Dist 7790 - Lewiston, ME - April 6, 2024." Click on "More Info" to access the Course Registration link.
Many additional details are provided on the Rotary Leadership Institute website at http://www.rlinea.org/. Please feel free to contact me with any questions at dadams@neias.org or 207-632-4721.
Please share this information with your fellow club members and other interested Rotarians.
We hope to see representation from each Maine District 7790 club, with many District 7790 Rotarians and clubs benefiting from this important program while it is in our district. We look forward to gathering with Rotarians from 7790 and beyond again in Lewiston this spring.
Sincerely,
Denise Adams
